Dental Services

At Gentry Dentistry of Suwanee, we are focused on providing complete family dentistry with emphasis on prevention, restoration, and decay detection. We enjoy speaking one-on-one with our patients and educating them on the best techniques to use in order to achieve excellent oral health outside of our office.

Services we offer include, but are not limited to:

Restorative Dentistry

No matter what we do, our teeth will experience the effects of aging, wear and daily life. No amount of brushing and flossing can keep this from happening. But through the years, great strides have been made to help patients achieve the smile they have always dreamed of, no matter their age.

If you're teeth have lost their luster, or you're missing a tooth or several teeth, Dr. Gentry can help get your smile back to looking bright and youthful. With restorative dentistry, you can achieve a functioning smile that is aesthetically pleasing and will boost your confidence.

There are health benefits that come with replacing missing teeth. If gaps are left in your smile, it is easier to develop periodontal disease and jaw bone disintegration. This could cause your facial structure to change and alter your appearance.

Ceramic Crowns

Ceramic crowns will help replace missing teeth and keep your tooth structure sound. Crowns can be paired with dental implants to help rebuild entire sections of teeth.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges will permanently close gaps between teeth. The look of the bridge may differ depending on the location of the bridge in the patients mouth. A simple bridge may consist of two crowns on either side of a false tooth.

Dr. Gentry is extremely knowledgeable and experienced when it comes to the placement of dental bridges. He will ensure that the bridge is placed accurately and is never visibly apparent.

Dentures have evolved with time. At one time they looked very unnatural and the patient had to deal with how uncomfortable they fit into their mouth. Today, dentures no longer look unnatural and fit, feel and appear just like natural teeth.

Dentures that have been supported by dental implants will not slip or falter in any way. Modern dentures even offer a range of tooth and gum color choices, so they will match the patients mouth perfectly.

Cosmetic Dentistry

If you're unhappy with your smile, there is something you can do about it! With a variety of cosmetic dentistry services you can achieve the smile you have always dreamed of. Dr. Gentry and his staff will help you get the smile you have always wanted, and educate you on how to maintain it for years to come.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is one of the most common and popular cosmetic dentistry services available today. Whether your teeth have become stained from drinking coffee, smoking cigarettes or enamel wear, a whitening solution can help remove the stains and give you the white smile you have been yearning for.

At Gentry Dentistry of Suwanee, Dr. Gentry will work with you to determine a whitening plan that works with your schedule and whitening needs. We offer whitening services in-office, as well as at home.

With a whiter smile, we notice our patients have more confidence and better self-esteem. One whitening session could completely change your life.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding solves a variety of structure problems. From closing gaps between teeth, reducing tooth sensitivity, lengthening short teeth and restoring cracked or chipped teeth; dental bonding is a remarkable and simple process to help restore a patient's mouth. When the appropriate tooth-colored resin is bonded to your mouth, it will stay in place for many years and will look and act like natural teeth. The process is generally completed in a single visit.

Composite Fillings & Tooth-colored Restorations

Now with the use of composite materials, fillings can be matched to the precise tooth shade of the mouth it will be placed in. The filling will look natural, meaning no one will be able to notice that it is there.

If you have preexisting metal dental work, Dr. Gentry can replace those with composite fillings or other restorations to help give you a more aesthetic smile.

Contact us today for more information on any of our cosmetic dental services. We hope to help you achieve a bright and healthy smile!

Preventive Dentistry

The foundation to a healthy and bright smile is making sure you see your dentist for basic teeth cleanings and examinations. With standard cleanings and x-rays, we are able to ensure that you are not at risk for tooth decay, cavities and other forms of periodontal disease.

Teeth Cleanings and Dental Exams

It is recommended that you see your dentist for a regular dental exam every 6 months for a good cleaning, and to be checked for cavities and gum disease. Preventive dentistry is your best chance to prevent dental problems later in your life. Dr. Gentry and his staff will educate you on the proper way to brush and floss your teeth, so that you can maintain a healthy mouth in between visits to the office.

Digital X-Rays

With digital x-rays, we are able to save our patients from the high radiation exposure of standard x-rays. Digital x-rays also have the advantage of not needing to be developed, which makes them environmentally friendly.

These x-rays also give a much more defined image and are clearer to see, so Dr. Gentry will be able to spot problem areas early on.

Molars generally have a higher rate of developing cavities because of their placement in the mouth, and their textured surface makes them harder to clean. Sealants coat these problem areas and create a thin layer to protect the tooth from any decay.

Sealants are easy to apply and will last for years. Dr. Gentry recommends sealants to most of his patients in order to save them from the development of cavities.

Oral Cancer Screening

Oral cancer screenings are quick and non-invasive. Dr. Gentry will examine your mouth and look for any identifiable diseased tissues. Through routine oral cancer screenings, you can ensure that your mouth is healthy.

Pediatric Dentistry

At Gentry Dentistry of Suwanee, we are a family dental office and welcome patients of all ages. We enjoy getting to care for the dental needs of your entire family. Since 1987, Dr. Gentry has had a lot of experience with caring for the needs of young patients.

We understand that going to the dentist can make some of our younger patients nervous and uneasy. That is why our team works to make sure your child's dental experience is a positive one. Dr. Gentry enjoys talking to each patient and educating them on proper oral healthcare. By showing our young patients how easy dental visits can be, we help them to not fear the dentist as they age.

First “Happy Visit” to the Dentist

We suggest bringing your child in for their first dental visit at the age of 3-years-old or when their first tooth erupts. During their first “Happy Visit,” we will ensure they are relaxed and will introduce them to our staff. We hope that by making them feel comfortable at our office, we can make every visit a breeze.

Pediatric Sealants

We offer children sealants to help protect their teeth from bacteria. By protecting your child's mouth from decay early, it will prevent the need for drilling and other stressful dental services that may scare your child.

Oral Hygiene Education

Our team understands that oral hygiene isn't the most exciting thing for your child to learn. But we truly believe that educating them early in life will have a great effect on them as they grow. We teach every child the proper way to brush and floss, and educate them on the importance of proper oral hygiene.

Schedule an appointment for your child at Gentry Dentistry of Suwanee, and let us show your child how great going to the dentist can be!

Other Services

Same Day Crowns

It is not unusual for the crowns of our teeth to become damaged as we age. Your crown is the entire portion of the tooth that is above the gum line. To restore your crown, we offer ceramic crowns that are tooth-colored and created for lost tooth structure. With ceramic crowns, your smile will be repaired in a single visit.

Constructed from porcelain, ceramic crowns are designed to fit perfectly in your mouth. Same day crowns are created right in our office, and are ready to be placed in 2 to 2 ½ hours. When the crown is finished being created, Dr. Gentry will place it in your mouth and send you home with your new brilliant smile.

For more information about same day crowns, contact our office today. We will help you determine if this is an option that is right for your mouth.

Porcelain Veneers

Dental veneers are one of the least invasive dental procedures available to help our patients change their smile for the better. Veneers are a new tooth surface that is fitted over your existing teeth. They are bonded to your teeth and can last for up to 10 years.

At Gentry Dentistry of Suwanee, we utilize porcelain for our veneers as they give a more natural look. The porcelain can actually be colored to match your teeth, or a shade that you are happy with.

Veneers can do a variety of things for a patients mouth, including lengthen their front teeth, permanently whiten teeth, reduce tooth sensitivity, repair worn teeth, fill gaps between teeth and much more! With the thinness of porcelain veneers, tooth reduction is reduced significantly. This allows the treatment to be more comfortable and preserves the existing teeth.

Porcelain veneers can give you the smile you have always wanted. Call our office today for more information.

Botox and Fillers

Everyone gets them. Those fine lines and wrinkles that form around your forehead and mouth as you age. If those lines and wrinkles have begun to take a hit to your self-confidence there is something your dentist can do to help you.

Dr. Gentry is happy to offer Botox treatments to help relax your facial muscles and get rid of your existing wrinkles. Treatments are a breeze and only take a few minutes to complete.

Your Botox Treatment
You will talk one-on-one with Dr. Gentry to determine how many Botox treatments you need to rid yourself of the wrinkles that are bothering you. Botox is helpful for those who clench their forehead while concentrating, working or feeling stressed.

Dr. Gentry will start by applying a topical anesthetic to make the injections unnoticeable. Then he will safely administer the shots of Botox to the necessary areas. You should start noticing results in 3-5 days after your treatment. These results generally last for 4-6 months. When the results start to wear off, you should return for another treatment.

Dermal Fillers
Dermal fillers are used to reduce wrinkles by providing the skin with hydrating substances. The fillers with return roundness to your cheeks while decreasing wrinkles and fine lines. Dermal fillers are very effective for laugh lines around the mouth and nose area.

Dr. Gentry has years of experience with injections and facial structure. He is highly certified when it comes to cosmetic injections. Just like Botox treatment, Dr. Gentry will apply a topical anesthetic and make the injections as comfortable as possible. Treatment is fast, easy and the results will last for months.

Dental Implants

A dental implant is a titanium screw that is placed in your gums to support a crown. The screw will go into your jaw bone and slowly fuse to your natural bone. As time goes on, the implant will become part of your jaw structure.

Dental implants can be matched with other restoration services that are simple or complex. Whether you're in need of a single dental implant or a full set to support dentures, Dr. Gentry can get the job done. Since dental implants become part of your jaw structure, they will make restoration areas act and feel like natural teeth.

Dental Implant Procedure
Dental implant procedures can take several months to complete, but the end results are worth the time spent. The patient will need to have adequate bone structure to support the implant placement. Once the patient has been prepared, the implants will be placed through incisions made in their gums. The patient will then need to let the implants fully heal until the next step of the restoration process can begin. It is very important that enough time has passed so that the implant can integrate with your bone.

Dr. Gentry will work one-on-one with you until the implants have fully healed, and your restoration site is completed. By utilizing dental implants with restorative services, it allows our team to help our patients achieve the beautiful smile they deserve.

Mouth Guards

If you're someone who grinds their teeth or is involved in very physical sports, a mouth guard can add the protection you need. Letting your teeth be exposed to harmful grinding or potential accidents can lead to tooth loss or tooth wear. Mouth guards will keep your teeth whole and safe from damage.

Bruxism Mouth Guards
Many adults suffer from bruxism, which is continuous teeth grinding, but many do not realize they grind. Grinding can occur while sleeping or when someone is under a lot of stress. With the use of a bruxism mouth guard, the patients teeth will be safe from their grinding. The mouth guard is usually worn at night and will not impact their daily life.

Athletic Mouth Guards
Athletic mouth guards are plastic covers that are worn on both the upper and lower teeth during physical activity. The mouth guard helps to prevent injuries and should be used by those in competitive contact sports, such as boxing and wrestling.

Your mouth guard will be fitted with an impression of your teeth, so it will fit perfectly into your mouth. Contact our office today to learn more about being fitted for a mouth guard.

Root Canals

If periodontal disease or a cavity has progressed to a stage where the tooth has become infected internally, a root canal (endodontics) may be needed. Dr. Gentry will try to save the tooth, and leave an extraction for the last possible option. He will remove the tooth nerves and pulp, and any area of the tooth that has become infected.

After he has completed the root canal, the tooth will be filled and sealed to prevent any further damage. The loss of tooth pulp is nothing to be worried about since it is not necessary for the health of the tooth.

A root canal can offer new life to a tooth that if left untreated any longer, may have needed to be completely extracted.
